フランスより入荷しました、老舗チョコレートメーカーCHOCOLAT MENIERの缶箱です。

メニエ社は1816年創業のフランスを代表する老舗チョコレートメーカーです。もともとは薬剤師が「薬を飲みやすくするためのコーティング」としてチョコレートを扱ったのが始まり。19世紀後半には世界最大のチョコレート工場を構え、フランス人の生活に欠かせない存在となりました。

鈍い黄金色に輝く蓋には、力強く美しいタイポグラフィがエンボス加工で刻まれています。長い年月を経て生まれた錆や塗装の剥げも古いお品ならではの魅力です。手に取ると、かつてフランスの家庭で愛されていたチョコレートの甘い香りが漂ってきそうな、不思議な温かみを感じさせます。
