南仏ニースの薬局「J.VIGON & Cie」から、遠くノルマンディー地方のアランソンへと届けられた、1900年前後の輸送用木箱です。

この木箱のユニークな点は、切手が貼られている面が裏面(底面)であること。当時の郵送システムでは、宛名ラベルを大きく見せるために、切手や消印はあえて底に配されることがありました。裏返した瞬間に現れる古い切手の佇まいに、当時の合理性と旅の足跡を感じます。

長い年月を経て深みを増した木肌、掠れたインク、そして大切に保管されていたことを物語るスライド蓋の滑らかさ。アンティークにしか出せない「静かな存在感」が漂います。

アンティークのボタンや古い鍵、お気に入りのアクセサリーを忍ばせて。
